How GL accounts are structured in WaterfallIQ

WaterfallIQ includes 52 default GL accounts organized by property type. Accounts are grouped into income and expense categories that map directly to the operating grid.

Default accounts

Accounts are pre-loaded when you create a property. You can add, rename, or deactivate accounts at any time from the Chart of Accounts tab.

GL codes

Each account has a GL code used for matching when importing data from Excel or CSV. Common codes:

Code	Account
4000	Gross potential rent
4100	Loss to lease
4200	Vacancy
5000	Repairs and maintenance
5100	Utilities
5200	Property management fee
5300	Insurance
5400	Real estate taxes

Property type templates

When adding a property, WaterfallIQ loads a default account template based on property type. Student housing and multifamily templates differ in income line items and expense categories.
