Waterfall presets

Built-in waterfall structures for common deal types

WaterfallIQ includes presets for the most common waterfall structures. Apply a preset to pre-fill your tier configuration, then customize as needed.

Available presets

Preset	Structure
Simple preferred	Return of capital + 8% pref + 80/20 split
Preferred with catch-up	Return of capital + 8% pref + catch-up + 70/30 split
Two-tier promote	Return of capital + 8% pref + 70/30 to 2x, then 50/50
Institutional LP	Return of capital + 9% pref + catch-up + 80/20 split

Applying a preset

On the Waterfall tab, click Load Preset and select the structure that matches your deal. All tiers will be pre-filled. Review and adjust rates, splits, and hurdles before saving.
